Tsèbil’nidzisgai Elementary School

Project Owner: San Juan School Distric | Completed: 2011 | Cost: $9 Million

Location: Highway 163 & San Juan County Road 4261, Monument Valley, Utah

Project Specifications:

  • 5,000 square foot newly constructed elementary school
  • Stained and polished concrete floors incorporating Navajo cultural elements
  • 20 years of litigation before construction began
  • School received an award from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) for the innovated use of the stained and polished floors

US 191 Colorado River Bridge

Project Owner: Utah Department of Transportation | Completed: 2011 | Cost: $30 Million

Location: US 191 Over the Colorado Bridge, Moab, Utah

Project Specifications:

  • Two Twin Segmental Bridges built utilizing cast-in-place, balanced cantilever construction
  • The two twin structures are made up of a single cell box girder with deck widths of 40 feet each.
  • The navigational channel is one hundred feet. Spans lengths are 292 ft, 438 ft, and 292 ft.

CMT’s Role: Materials Testing and Special Inspections for the Contractor – Wadsworth Brothers.CMT mobilized a portable laboratory in the town of Moab for the duration of the project and for the first time used cross-hole sonic logging for testing of the concrete used in the major structures.

US 191 Colorado River Bridge

PROCTOR & GAMBLE MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Project Owner: Proctor & Gamble | Completed: 2009 | Cost: $315 Million

Location: Box Elder County, Utah

Project Specifications:

  • 762,000 square foot distribution center and state of the art industry equipment

CMT’s Role: Quality Control – Materials testing and Special Inspections.

FREDERICK ALBERT SUTTON GEOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS BUILDING

Project Owner: State of Utah DFCM | Completed: 2009 | Cost: $25 Million

Location: University of Utah

Project Specifications:

  • 91,000 square foot, four story, higher education learning facility
  • Building contains laboratories, lecture halls, classrooms, offices and department leadership centers.
  • Project incorporated several Green Building Practices.

CMT’s Role: Quality Control – Materials testing and Special Inspections.
